The Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT-EMT) exam is authorized by the National Registry for Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) to help candidates develop knowledge and skills to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical services care to critical and emergent patients during transportation. National Registry EMT Exam Format
The national registry EMT is a computer-based (CBT) exam that includes 70 to 120 questions out of which 10 are counted as unmarked for pretest purposes. These questions are not highlighted as scored or unscored items so you have to answer all the questions with full intention. The NREMT is a 2-hour long exam with a $104 (USD) fee per attempt. A candidate can take up to a maximum of three attempts to pass the exam and this exam can be retaken 15 days after the last exam. In case, a candidate fails in three attempts, he will need to repeat the entire EMT refresher course again to appear in the NREMT exam.
